This is the case story about Agera PR’s work for Jamf
Apple products have long been regarded as relatively secure compared with competing platforms. However, in recent years both the threat landscape and the way we work and study have changed rapidly. Macs, iPads and iPhones are now used by an increasing number of businesses and schools, as many people want to use the same tools at work and in education as they do in their personal lives.
For organisations, allowing users to choose their own hardware has become a competitive advantage. Taken together, this has made mobile and Mac security an increasingly important issue — not only for IT departments, but also for leadership teams across both the private and education sectors.
Jamf is the global leader in Apple device management and security for enterprise environments. The company helps organisations centrally manage, protect and update Macs, iPhones and other Apple devices through Mobile Device Management (MDM) and security solutions tailored to the Apple ecosystem.
The Challenge
The communications challenge extended beyond simply building awareness of Jamf as a company and brand. To create real business value, Agera PR also needed to help raise awareness of the growing adoption of Apple devices in the workplace. Macs are still often viewed as consumer products, while at the same time the “employee choice” trend was growing, with staff increasingly expecting to choose the hardware they work on themselves.
The objective therefore became twofold: to position Jamf as the leading authority on Apple security, while also driving the broader conversation around security, mobility and the advantages of Apple devices in the workplace.
The Strategy
Our work is based on long-term PR and thought leadership, closely linked to current societal and security issues. Rather than relying on traditional product PR, the focus has been on earned visibility in editorial media through expert commentary, reports, opinion pieces and interviews.
The strategy has been to continuously connect Jamf’s expertise to ongoing discussions around cyber threats, hybrid working, AI and changing workplace habits. This ensured the communications remained relevant beyond traditional IT media.
An important part of the work has also involved making technical security issues understandable and engaging for broader audiences. Mobile phones as corporate devices, threats to Mac devices and new ways of working now affect senior leadership teams and everyday employees alike — not just IT departments.
Thought Leadership and Media Relations
During the period, Jamf has established itself as a recurring expert source on Apple security and mobile cyber security in Swedish and Nordic media.
Agera PR works continuously with media relations, expert positioning and news angles connected to Jamf’s analyses and security reports. Coverage has been generated through bylined articles, opinion pieces, interviews and expert commentary in publications including Aktuell Säkerhet, Kollega, Upphandling24, MacWorld, Mobil and Techtidningen.
Jamf’s recurring threat reports and security reports have become key drivers of the PR programme. By identifying newsworthy insights and local angles, the reports have generated continuous editorial visibility around emerging threats to Apple devices and changes within the cyber security landscape.
At the same time, the work has progressively strengthened Jamf’s spokespersons, resulting in more interview requests and speaking opportunities.
Results
Agera PR’s assignment has been ongoing since spring 2023 across Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.
Through long-term and consistent PR efforts, we have built a strong presence for Jamf in relevant business, technology and security media. The company has become a natural voice in discussions around mobile security, Macs in the workplace and the future digital workplace.
One important outcome has been continuity. The steady flow of earned media coverage over time has gradually strengthened both visibility and credibility within a highly competitive landscape. Sustained visibility over the long term increases brand awareness and ensures the company remains top of mind.
The work continues, with new reports, expert commentary and media activities linked to the rapidly evolving security landscape surrounding Apple devices and the digitalisation of working life.
