New ideas, innovative concepts, and visually striking campaigns are celebrated \u2014 and of course, creativity is an important ingredient in a strong PR campaign. But if we\u2019re being honest: how often do these cool ideas actually lead to results that make a difference for the client\u2019s business?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"388\" data-end=\"605\">Getting featured in an industry publication like <em data-start=\"437\" data-end=\"445\">Resum\u00e9<\/em> can be a feather in the cap for the creator. But for the client? Not necessarily very relevant \u2014 and in that case, the PR agency hasn\u2019t really done a good job.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1nqmabx\" data-start=\"607\" data-end=\"658\">Creativity without direction becomes irrelevant<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"660\" data-end=\"953\">There\u2019s a clear message to the industry here: PR agencies that aren\u2019t interested in economics or business impact need to be exceptionally skilled at their craft to create real value. Otherwise, the communication risks becoming very flat \u2014 fun and appealing, but ultimately irrelevant.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"955\" data-end=\"1209\">Every marketing investment must withstand scrutiny, and it\u2019s not enough to create something that simply \u201cfeels good\u201d or looks impressive in a portfolio. Communication needs to contribute to something bigger: a stronger brand and tangible business results.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"zvr6ly\" data-start=\"1211\" data-end=\"1255\">What should you look for in a PR agency?<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1257\" data-end=\"1696\">For companies looking for a PR agency, one of the biggest gaps in the market is precisely business thinking. Many agencies are great at coming up with ideas \u2014 fewer are truly good at connecting communication efforts to business outcomes. That\u2019s why it becomes problematic when a brief mainly asks for great ideas. Most of the time, that\u2019s not the only thing needed, and it\u2019s definitely not what company leadership is primarily looking for.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1698\" data-end=\"1737\">So what should you actually prioritize?<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1739\" data-end=\"1978\">\n<li data-section-id=\"mkmsl0\" data-start=\"1739\" data-end=\"1766\">Focus on concrete goals<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"6rhwut\" data-start=\"1767\" data-end=\"1892\">Look for the ability to create content that is relevant to potential customers, even if it doesn\u2019t impress industry peers<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1hwht15\" data-start=\"1893\" data-end=\"1978\">Have the courage to choose what works \u2014 even when it may be perceived as \u201cboring\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1980\" data-end=\"2182\">Sometimes, the most effective approach is not the most spectacular one. Consistently being visible with the right message for the right audience can be far more valuable than a single creative home run.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2184\" data-end=\"2483\">A great PR agency is passionate about finding angles that work in the media \u2014 not just ones that sound clever. It wants to see its ideas published, shared, and actually making a difference. It identifies the right influencer who genuinely elevates a brand \u2014 not just the one with the most followers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2485\" data-end=\"2672\">So yes, a PR agency should love storytelling, media, and creative angles. But even more importantly, it should be driven by results. Otherwise, it may be entertaining \u2014 but not effective.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1cew7cg\" data-start=\"2674\" data-end=\"2695\">Impact before ego<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2697\" data-end=\"2891\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Communication that truly makes a difference requires more than creativity \u2014 important as creativity certainly is.
